The one thing I have always been proud to say about The 30 Clean is that we are open to all diets, as long as the founding principal is based on real, high quality food. Even though our Challenges are based on an elimination-paleoesque diet for 30 days, we do not expect everyone to live by Challenge guidelines 365 days out of the year. We know that every body is different and we respect that some people have vegan principles while others may want to dabble in a ketogenic or macrobiotic diet. In fact, learning about the way different foods can make us feel is very important and the best way to determine your personal health code.  

I personally enjoy living a 30 Clean lifestyle most of the time, however, there have been times in my life when I lived with very different philosophies. Like my last three years in collage when I become vegetarian. Lets just say that did not go so well, considering my staples where tofu, bread and rice! But that was many years before I got a grip on my health and when I finally did I actually experimented with vegan and even a few months of raw vegan. I have to say, the later left me feeling incredibly energetic, focused and bright. But what else would you expect when you eat a ton of veggies, fruit and fats? The time came when my body once again craved protein, and because I was not dogmatic in my dietary approach, I happily brought high quality animal protein back into my life. Now, I feel I flow freely between many diets without forcing myself into any one dogma. 

Hence why I decided to take on an awesome 3-Day Raw Food Purification Challenge, after I met Ian Myers. Ian is a Plant Powered Lifestyle Coach and Fitness Trainer at Ian Myers Wellness in Encinitas, California. Ian and I meet a few weeks ago to discuss what life is like as health and fitness entrepreneurs in San Diego. While we may not eat the same daily diet, we both completely respect each other and have strong desires to to create healthy communities! Listening to Ian’s passion for the raw vegan diet, along with his bright energy and yes, incredibly fit physique (see Ian’s photo at the end of this blog and you will see what I am talking about!), sparked my interest to give the raw lifestyle a try again. And, as any well trained coached would do, Ian challenged me to go 3-Days Raw!

Of course I said, “YES!” So, for the next three days I will be following Ian’s diet plan and I challenge anyone reading this (as long as you are not on a 30-Clean Challenge) to give it a go with me! Whether you join me for 1 day or all three, let’s do this and have some fun. What do you have to loose? Well, inflammation of course! This plan is INCREDIBLY EASY!

3-Day Raw Food Purification Challenge – Created by Ian Michael Myers

This 3 day Challenge is designed to gently guide and assist you in cleansing and purifying your body. The recipes included over the next 3 days are simple and easy to prepare and they are rich in the Vitamins, Minerals and Enzymes to support you.

When you increase your daily intake of Plant Based Living Foods, Fruits & Vegetables in their natural state to between 70-80 percent, your body will almost immediately begin to feel more energetic and more hydrated. These are some additional benefits that you may also experience:

  • More clarity and less brain fog
  • Improved digestion
  • Less Anxiety
  • Better bowel movements

The Plan 

Day 1

Upon Rising

The first thing that you want to do when you wake up is Hydrate and alkalize your body.

  • 20 oz. of Reverse Osmosis Water or Distilled Water + Juice of 1 Lemon

(optional- Lo Han Sweetener, Stevia or Honey and or add dash or two of cayenne pepper to increase blood circulation and speed up metabolism and or 1 tbsp of Braggs Apple cider vinegar to help dissolve mucus in the body.)

Pre Breakfast – Optional

  • Mono Fruit Meal ( Choose 1 type of in season fruit and eat only that fruit for this meal and VERY IMPORTANT eat until you are satisfied)

Breakfast Smoothie

  • In a high speed blender add: As your base, start with 6 oz of Reverse Osmosis Water or Distilled Water and add more to find desired consistency, 2 Ripe Bananas (with brown little spots), 1 cup of Frozen Blueberries, a small handful or about 4 stems of Parsley (cut off the bottoms), 2 Dates (Don’t forget to remove the pit!)

**In between meals if you’re feeling hungry try drinking 10 oz of water and see if the hunger pains disappear. Most of the time, our body is telling us its slightly dehydrated.

Lunch

Don’t be shy…Don’t put your fork down until fully satisfied. These foods are high in nutrition and low in calories, so indulge!

  • Big Salad: 4 to 6 cups of Mixed greens and add as many colors as you can. Alfalfa Sprouts, Tomatoes, Green Onions, Shredded Carrots, Cilantro (Heavy Metal Detoxer), Parsley (Blood Cleanser), Shredded Beets, Purple Cabbage, 3-4 Green or Black Olives, 1 tbsp of Hemp Seeds, Dulse.
  • Basil Pesto Dressing: In a High Speed Blender add 1 Avocado, grab 1 small handful of fresh basil (don’t worry, you can’t mess this up), 1 tbsp of olive oil, 1 clove of Garlic,  juice of 1 lemon, Sea Salt and black pepper to taste, and you will need to add a little water to get the dressing to mix ( start with 4 tbsp.)

 Snack

  • Organic Magestic Sprouted Hummus with Fresh Veggies and/or Jicima Slices

Dinner

Don’t be shy…Don’t put your fork down until fully satisfied. These foods are high in nutrition and low in calories, so indulge!

  • Noodle Bowl: 2- 4 cups of cut Zucchini noodles or Kelp noodle.
  • Orange Dressing: In a high speed blender add 1 avocado, 1 ½ tbsp. of fresh rosemary, 1 Red bell pepper sliced up, 1 carrot peeled and chopped up, ¼ Tsp of Turmeric powder, 1 tbsp of braggs nutritional yeast (optional), Sea Salt (start with ¼ tsp), Black pepper to taste, dash of cumin.

Day 2

Follow the same layout from day 1. You can change around the dressings if you choose to or just use the one you like the most.

The Breakfast Smoothie can be changed. You can choose to keep it the same or use frozen Raspberries or Frozen fruit of your choice. You may also swap out the parsley for another herb like cilantro or mint. 

Day 3

Follow the same layout from Day 1 and 2.
