“If this is the first challenge for any of you, I highly recommend coming back for a second. 30 days is a start, but it takes 66 days to create a habit. The changes I had from the first challenge were drastic. The changes in the 2nd were life changing. I’m so much healthier. I have a LOT more energy to chase and play with my kids. AND I no longer have to take ANY allergy or asthma medicine. I don’t have a medical explanation for not needing my Singular, Claritin or an inhaler, I just know I’m enjoying breathing easy while everyone around me is sniffling and sneezing from the crazy pollen counts. In January, I decided it was my time. Inspired by friends at my gym who found success with The 30 Clean™, I committed to do a challenge and immersed myself in the process. I ditched the 4 cups of coffee I traditionally had for breakfast and the habit of commonly skipping meals and instead opted for whole, nutrient-dense clean eating. For one of the infamous Non-Food Challenges, we were asked to post a word in our private Facebook group about why we were doing The 30 Clean. My response was “WORTHY.” I was drawn in by the idea of real food. I had tried eating healthy by counting points, calories and using protein powders. I was frustrated. Eating nothing but real food certainly paid off. I have lost a total of 35 pounds and have gone from a size 14 to a 6/8!

The 30 CLEAN may not have saved my life but it has certainly given me a better quality of life.. I have more energy, I am more alert, do not fall asleep talking face to face with someone. I had rip roaring allergies and now they are all but gone. Have not had medication in almost 4 weeks. (was taking 2 or 3 allergy pills a day with little effect. Not to mention to date I have dropped 3 jean sizes. I can get up and down off the floor and I’m exercising 2 times a day. Just do it…you want regret it.

The recent loss of my mother had me feeling incredibly run-down. I decided to take the 30-day challenge to see if I could take my health and overall well-being to the next level. I never knew how helpful it would be to feel like “we’re in this together.” I would highly recommend this program to anyone who simply wants to FEEL GOOD and who is motivated to improve his or her health for the better. My name is Cat Kom and I’m the founder of Studio SWEAT and Studio SWEAT onDemand. A common mistake I see a lot of business owners make is that they try to be the Jack of All Trades. In doing so they will most often become just okay at many things, and not really GREAT at anything.

That said, my business is the fitness business, not nutrition counseling or programs. That doesn’t mean that I don’t know a lot about the nutrition, because I (and the rest of the Studio SWEAT training staff) do. And it’s not to say that I don’t think diet is a key part of health & fitness, because it so… is, but wanting to stick to what I am great at and not spread myself too thin I found myself needing to direct my clients to those that made nutrition the thing they do GREAT, and that was and is The 30 Clean Team. They live, sleep and breathe it.

I’d have to do the math, but I believe between my San Diego Studio and my global Studio SWEAT clientele (via Studio SWEAT onDemand) The 30 Clean Team has been the nutrition right hand to my fitness left hand in several 30 Day Challenges for literally hundreds of my clients. These people from around the world come together as a team and learn the value of eating real food. They find themselves supported and coached by The 30 Clean Team, working right along side us as experts in other fields, being supportive, respectful, and so helpful. Our goal was simple; we needed to gain control of our lifestyles in a way in which we can raise our daughter to have a healthy and beneficial relationship with food. We had both tried other diets only to find that we were focused on finding loopholes rather than changing our behavior. The community element brings us great ideas and suggestions on how to enjoy living clean while supplying a group of cheerleaders as each day goes by. I had a very casual attitude going into my first Clean . . . but, when I woke up on day one everything changed! My mentality and attitude switched to “Its Go Time! 30 day challenge? I cannot explain what this journey has taught me.. my husband and I are both down almost 30 pounds. Surprisingly though, that is not my favorite part. I have learned that I love good, real food. I don’t eat processed food at all anymore, and the best part is I don’t miss it! I’ve learned I can make almost anything I want to eat in a healthy way. My 7 year old daughter loves it; she has not turned her nose up at anything I have made. Having my family on board has made this so much better, and I feel amazing…..better than ever! I am now 34 years old, and until October 2013 I took Benadryl or Tylenol PM almost nightly to sleep. I also took 3 prescription allergy medications daily because I have sneezed all day, my entire life! I have stopped ALL of that, and fall asleep earlier and faster. I sleep all night, and I don’t sneeze all day. For me to say that this has been life changing, would be an understatement.

I work out 5-6 days a week and most of my workouts are pretty intense. I have done Weight Watchers in the past and have seen results but have always put weight back on. I was frustrated that I worked out so hard that I did not look leaner. A friend of mine at the gym told me that I should start eating clean and I would see results. That’s where I was hoping the 30 Clean would come in. Wow did my expectations get met and exceeded. I have lost 7.5lbs in 30 days and 8.5 inches over my total body. I used to have daily stomach issues, during this 30days it’s down to maybe 4 times in 30 days. I am loving this new lifestyle and do not have any plans to change. Lisa Lyon is a 42 year old mother of two boys ages 3 and a half and just 11 weeks!
Lisa’s relationship with food growing up was a common one. She spent plenty of time outdoors, enjoying a normal childhood but the reward for most things was an unhealthy “treat.” A connection was never made between the food we put into our bodies and the way we look and feel. Lisa has suffered from chronic acne which, post 30 Clean, she can now attribute to an intolerance for dairy and soy.
She did two Cleans back to back and felt amazing. Her energy was through the roof, her skin had never looked better, bad habits like a daily glass or two of wine were gone and she had lost weight, especially in her midsection. After having her second child, Lisa came back for the Spring Break Challenge and – as you can see from her pictures – poof, that baby weight is gone!

I have nothing but great things to say about The 30 Clean! The effects of the program go way beyond weight-loss. Yes, you will feel lighter, healthier, more energetic, and less bloated, but what really sets The 30 Clean apart is the community support and camaraderie created on their Facebook boards. The studio truly becomes a community all working towards the same goal. Everyone is rooting for each other and everyone wants to see everyone else succeed! Additionally, as a nursing mother, there are not many “cleanses” that I can do, but since this is not about calorie restriction, it’s doable! Bonus – you walk out with a bunch of new recipe ideas!

Just days after completing The 30 Clean, I am proud to say I set a Personal Record (and came in 1st in my age group!) at a 1/2 marathon on Saturday with a time of 1:40:43. My last 1/2 Marathon was the day before The 30 Clean challenge began (in mid-September) and in 30 days of eating clean and continuing to train hard… I took 2 minutes off of my last 1/2 marathon time from a month ago! This is proof that it is absolutely possible to eat clean and still maintain a high level of fitness. No junky carbs needed… just the right amount of whole, real, nutrient dense foods! I trusted the process and was a little skeptical that I might not have enough “fuel in the tank”, but I felt full of energy and had my best race yet! Thanks to The 30 Clean for challenging me to eat only REAL foods!

There has been so much personal change in the past 30 days. I have lost 14.5 lbs (yeah) and that was with very little real exercise. I feel better now than I have in over 1.5 years! I can now walk down the stairs one step after another without holding the rails versus the one step at a time and rail holding that I have had to do for the past 2 years. I am sleeping through the night most nights now compared to previously waking up 3-5 times per night. I feel like I have retaken control of my health, something that has been spiraling out of control since my diagnosis of breast cancer in January 2013. This has been a great experience for me. I stopped snoring the first week, no headaches the whole month! I got off caffeine the third week & stayed off. Yes, my clothes fit better & I shaved a minute off my mile time but most importantly I changed the way I look at food. I realized how much I snack, how sugar would get me to eat more and make me feel worse. I plan on going slow w/the reintroduction of other foods bc I want keep feeling this way. I honestly didn’t know what I was getting into that orientation night at Lisa’s house but I’m soo glad I went through it.

I am a 52 year old cancer survivor. I have always been a very active person until the big C diagnosis. The only thing I did was eat, sleep and to radiation therapy and eat and eat some more. People love to feed you when you are sick. The weight increase was gradual at first but the doctors all told me not to worry about it because I needed my strength. Twenty months later I have packed on 50 pounds. I have discovered that I am an emotional eater. Being overweight depresses me and depression makes me eat. I finally decided, I have got to lose this extra weight. Of course I went to my good ole stand by diets. Protein Shakes, depravation, no carbs, low fat diets. You know the ones, all those diets that really worked. Yeah right! I am now a 40 day cleaner and I feel great!! This is not a diet. It is a challenge to do something good for yourself and your body. All my life I have hated food because it made me fat. Now I love the taste of the good choices I make for myself. I have a totally different relationship with food. You will too if you ever get CLEAN.

I started the 30 Clean February 24th and since then
have not gone back to my old ways…because of that I am down a
whoppin’ 50 LBS!!!!! YUP…50!!!!!!!!! After my 30 days, I felt like I
could do this on my own and guess what…I DIDI!!! Every now and then
I “choose” not “cheat” to each something not clean…instantly I know
my gut will hate me for it, so those choices have become less and
less. Not only that, but I just don’t want the sugar, the bread, the
pasta…anymore, I just don’t crave it like I used to. At first I was so overwhelmed by the prep and cooking and grocery shopping…but not anymore. I’m a master! EVERYONE who sees me wants to know my secret…no secret, just eatin’ clean! This has become so easy for me and I don’t feel as if I’m deprived at all (which has ALWAYS been my issue with “diets”) I feel like this is “IT”…never going back the way things used to be, no
more yo-yo dieting…this just works and my body is so thankful :)

“After loosing 25 pounds in the last 4 months on the 30 clean someone at work asked me when I was going off my diet. It never occurred to me that I would stop eating the way you have taught me to eat. I’ve gone from a size 14 to a size 8. I’m now wearing Rachel’s hand me downs I attached 2 photos one from prior to clean and one from last week. I have a heart problem and I’m 5 times more likely to have a stroke. Already had a little one and don’t want the BIG ONE. Health is the major reason for my clean eating. Before I ate fast food everyday. Now my fast food is anything I can cook in 20 minutes.
